An Open Letter to the AdU ECE Online Community
Dear AdU ECE online community,
I can’t believe that a small idea of having an online community for our Adamsonian electronic engineering society would grow from a free site (www.auecess.forumotion.org) to an Alumni-sponsored site (www.auecess.org then to www.adamsonianece.org). Back then the online community was initially established to keep the students informed and build up a bayanihan with the different year levels of our humble student society but with the alumni coming to the picture the forum expanded its force and also its responsibility.
Here’s a diagram of my personal analysis on what is usually happening to our society.

The figure presents the two important division of our engineering career: the academic circle and the industry circle, which slightly overlaps with the academic circle to represent our OJT program. There are only two human elements here: the Faculty (Blue) and the Student (Green). In the diagram the faculty transfers all of his ideas, knowledge and skills to the student whom later would have to choose if he would take his/her path to be in the industry or to be in the Academic circle. Now, if the student chooses to be an industry engineer, he/she has no medium to share his ideas, knowledge and skills to the academic circle unless he/she would return to the academic circle and becomes a faculty him/herself. In my opinion, this industry-to-academe cycle is ineffective nowadays because it takes too much time to complete and some industry information might then be obsolete when the cycle finally finishes.
